Kaster.io (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the True North mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign up using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we collect:

• Email address (from your Google or Apple account; Apple may provide a private relay email)
• Account identifier (Google or Apple)

1.2 Birth Information

To generate your personalized astrological, Human Design, and numerology profiles, we collect:

• Date of birth
• Time of birth
• Birth location (city name, geographic coordinates)
• Birth time zone
• Birth name (optional)

1.3 Chat & AI Interactions

When you use our AI-powered chat features, we collect:

• Messages you send
• AI-generated responses
• Conversation metadata (timestamps, token usage)

Your chat messages and natal chart context are processed by OpenAI’s GPT-4 API to generate personalized insights. OpenAI’s data usage policies apply to this processing.

1.4 Purchase Information

When you purchase premium content, we collect:

• Product purchased and purchase status
• Transaction timestamps

On Android and web, payment processing is handled by Stripe. On iOS, payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details on our servers.

1.5 Subscription Information

True North offers an optional monthly membership subscription ($19.99/month). When you subscribe:

• Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Payment: On iOS, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. On Android and web, payment is processed by Stripe and charged to your selected payment method.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. On iOS, manage your subscription in Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. On Android/web, cancellation is available through your account settings in the App.
• Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• No refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

Subscription terms are governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement on iOS.

1.6 Audio Recordings

The App includes a self-hypnosis recording feature that uses your device microphone. Audio recordings are stored exclusively on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

1.7 Device & Usage Information

We collect limited analytics data to improve the App:

• App usage events (feature interactions, errors)
• Push notification tokens (for delivering notifications you opt into)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate personalized content — natal charts, transit predictions, Human Design bodygraphs, numerology profiles, and AI-powered guidance based on your birth data
• Provide AI chat features — process your messages with astrological context to deliver relevant insights
• Process purchases — fulfill paid content like career and financial reports
• Send notifications — deliver transit alerts and reminders you opt into
• Improve the App — analyze usage patterns and fix errors
• Maintain security — authenticate your identity and protect your account

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the App:

4. Data Storage & Security

• All user data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled — you can only access your own data
• All API communication uses HTTPS encryption in transit
• Authentication tokens are managed via Supabase Auth with JWT verification
• Audio recordings remain on-device only and are not transmitted
• We do not store payment card details — Stripe handles all payment data

5. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active
• Chat history is retained to provide ongoing conversational context
• Audio recordings are stored locally on your device and controlled entirely by you
• Analytics data is retained in accordance with PostHog’s data retention policies

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access & Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the App from Settings > Delete Account. Upon account deletion:

• Your profile, birth data, chat history, charts, and purchase records are permanently removed from our database
• Locally stored audio recordings must be deleted from your device manually

No email or external request is required — account deletion is fully self-service within the App.

6.2 Notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

6.3 Microphone Access

You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your device settings. This will disable the self-hypnosis recording feature but will not affect other App functionality.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App or via email. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
